Layering Etiquette: The Jean Jacket

Joshua Kissi: There’s no incorrect direction in approaching the etiquette of layering, especially when it serves a practical function like shielding you from the frigid weather. The trick to mastering the art of layering is to consider color, cut, and silhouettes that look keen to the eye. There is a natural progression with layering. The thinnest garments should be closest to your body with the thicker pieces being layered over those.

Japanese retailer TOKISHIRAZU continues its in-house lookbook series as it presents another piece dubbed “Creators Style” for Fall/Winter 2010. The lookbook highlights a selection of top brands carried by the store, including the likes of CASH CA, Bebop, and NEXUSVII, with styling from Kazuki Kuraishi and a special appearance by NEXUSVII founder Tomohiro Konno. Look for theses styles now through TOKISHIRAZU.

Timepiece: TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887

In 1964, the pre-TAG Heuer era Ed. Heuer & Co. released their original chronograph. Marked by an iconic design that has effortlessly moved with the times, a recent release saw the latest iteration of the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre series. Featuring an updated 41 mm dial (versus the predecessors 35.5 mm dial) and a slightly thicker case, the watch’s 1887 designation represents the use of TAG Heuer’s own movement which is surely to be a mainstay of the brand for years to come. The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 is currently only available in select markets with a US release slated for sometime in the spring of 2011.
